Congress leader in Punjab Navjot Singh Sidhu will be released from Patiala Jail tomorrow. This information has been given from his official Twitter handle. He was jailed in a 1988 road rage case. The Supreme Court had announced the punishment for Sidhu. He was convicted on May 19 last year. On January 26, the news of Navjot Singh Sidhu’s premature release under ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav Scheme’ came to the fore. But later there was no order for his release.
The case of this punishment received by Navjot Sidhu is about 35 years old, when Navjot Sidhu and his friend had a fight over parking in Patiala. A 65-year-old man had died in this. Sidhu was punished by the High Court in this case. But the charge of culpable homicide was dismissed by the Supreme Court. After this, two years ago, the family members filed a review petition. Sidhu’s lawyers opposed the plea.

Sidhu had a fight with a 65-year-old Gurnam Singh over parking in Patiala. In this, Sidhu allegedly punched Gurnam Singh. Later Gurnam Singh died. Police registered a case of culpable homicide not amounting to murder against Navjot Singh Sidhu and his friend Rupinder Singh Sidhu.
