3 jawans martyred in encounter with Naxalites in Sukma
Chhattisgarh: Three District Reserve Guard (DRG) personnel, including an Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI), were killed in an hours-long encounter between police and Maoists in Sukma district on Saturday. A senior officer has given this information. Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has expressed deep sorrow over the incident of martyrdom of policemen in the encounter and said that the martyrdom of the soldiers will not go in vain. Bastar range Inspector General of Police Sundarraj P told PTI that DRG assistant sub-inspectors Ramuram Nag (36), constables Kunjram Joga (33) and constables Kunjram Joga (33) were killed in the encounter between security forces and Maoists between Jagargunda and Kunder villages in Sukma district. Vanjam Bhima (31) has been martyred.
Regarding the encounter, Sundarraj told that on Saturday morning, the DRG team was sent on patrolling from Jagargunda police station. Naxalites attacked the police party when it was between Jagargunda and Kunde village at 9 am. Three policemen, including an assistant sub-inspector, were martyred in this attack.
Six Maoists were killed in the encounter
Police officials said that after the firing of Naxalites, the security forces also retaliated. He said that after the incident, additional security force was sent to the spot and the bodies of the martyred policemen were brought to Jagargunda. The police officer said that more information is being sought in this regard. The operation against Naxalites is going on in the area. Police officials have claimed that about six Naxalites have been killed in the encounter, whose bodies were dragged into the forest by their accomplices.
Let us inform that earlier on February 20, two policemen were martyred in a Naxalite attack in Rajnandgaon district of the state. Officials said that Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has expressed grief over the martyrdom of three soldiers in the encounter and while expressing condolences to the families of the martyrs, said that the martyrdom of the soldiers will not go in vain.
