The Supreme Court refused to consider the petition related to leave during menstruation.
New Delhi: There has been a debate on social media and various other forums on the matter of giving leave to girl students and working women during menstruation. A petition was also filed in this regard in the Supreme Court, although on Friday the country’s top court refused to consider it. The Supreme Court said that this issue comes under the policy purview of the government, in which case a representation can be filed in the concerned ministry for taking a decision.

In this petition filed in the Supreme Court, it was requested to direct all the states to menstruation In view of the pain caused by this, make rules for girl students and working women at their workplace with provision of holidays on those days. On this, the top court said that this issue comes under the policy purview of the government. Chief Justice D.Y. A bench headed by Chandrachud said that a representation can be sent to the Union Ministry of Women and Child Development for taking a decision.
Delhi’s person had filed the petition
According to reports, by Delhi resident Shailendra Mani Tripathi Supreme Court The petition filed in had sought directions to the Center and all states to comply with Section 14 of the Maternity Benefit Act, 1961. Section 14 of the Act deals with the appointment of Inspectors and states that the appropriate Government may appoint such officers. The petition also states that the local bodies may define the limits of jurisdiction within which they shall discharge their functions under this Act.
